This book deals fully with the 385 species that occur regularly in Britain and North-West Europe, a region that includes Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Britain and Ireland. This effectively covers all of Western Europe other than Iceland, Spain, Portugal and Italy, although the great majority of slpecies to be found there are, in fact, included within this book, as are the bulk of those occurring in neighbouring eastern European countriessuch as Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia and Slovenia.
